NPC, NIS Discuss Ways To Improve Data Integrity


The Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, fnsa, expressed confidence in the ability of the commission and the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS to work together to achieve their common goal of improving data integrity and credibility in the country. 

Kwarra stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Comptroller General of Immigration (CGI), Adepoju Carol Wura-Ola, in Abuja.

The visit was part of the NPC's ongoing efforts to collaborate with data-generating agencies in the country to improve data integrity and credibility.

During the visit, Kwarra and Wura-Ola discussed ways in which the NPC and NIS can work together to ensure that the data collected during the census is accurate and up-to-date. They also discussed the possibility of sharing data between the two agencies.

Wura-Ola expressed the NIS's commitment to supporting the NPC in its efforts to conduct a successful census. She said that the NIS would provide the NPC with all the necessary data and assistance to ensure that the census is accurate and credible.

Kwarra who expressed confidence in the ability of both agencies to achieve their common goal of improving data integrity said the visit was part of the commission’s efforts to collaborate with data-generating agencies in the country. 

With this synergy, he opined that both the NPC and NIS are committed to ensuring that data collected during the 2023 Population and Housing Census is accurate and reliable, adding that it is an essential ingredient for good governance and development planning.
