The retired General Manager of Nigeria Television Authority NTA Ogun state Funmi Wakama has been conferred as the Yeye Fiwagboye of Owu Kingdom in Abeokuta and her husband became the Fiwagboye Of Owu.
Wakama was installed by the royal father Oba Prof. Metemilola on Saturday, after her retirement as NTA Abeokuta General Manager, alongside other Chiefs.
Speaking with the newsmen after the installation, the former CPS to Gov. Amosun in Ogun State, appreciated her husband and family for support during her sojourn in the field of journalism.
She Narrated some challenges during her stay in the field, noting that she couldn’t thank her husband enough for his support.
“I can’t find any adjective to qualify how I feel today, starting from the beginning and rising to the top, I mean retired at level seventeen and I still have energy in me. I give God the glory”.
“I just want to thank my family and particularly my husband for everything, for not being able to visit and coming home only on festive period due to the nature of my job, I can’t thank him enough”.
“I can’t thank my love enough, only God will reward him for me”.
Wakama urges good people of the state to support her Funmi Wakama Foundation (FWF), which was also launched officially, revealing that it is a project she has been doing to help the less privileged in society, by providing jobs and opportunities.
She also disclosed that after she regained her sanity with some rest she want to go into business as she launched Allround Communications Company at the event.
Working with former Gov. Ibikunle Amosun was a breaking point for me and everyone that work with him.
“After I regained my sanity, and rested for a while, I want to go into business as I have launched my Communications company, “Allround Communications Company” and I also want people to support my Foundation which I have been using to help the less privileged.
“Allround communication company would go into media consultancy and every other thing. So, support your sister”.
Also speaking at the Akinrogun of Egbaland and former Governor in Ogun State. Chief Olusegun Osoba commended Mrs. Funmi Wakama for her diligence at work while also appreciating her husband for support in her sojourn in the field of journalism.
“I must commend your husband for supporting you, it is not easy to be husband or wife to a journalist, because of the nature of the job, my wife always complains because I have to listen to TV, and radio in the morning and follow up reports”.
“I must thank her husband, he must be a good husband to have allowed you to practice journalism and stood firmly with you, may the success continue in your family, it is not ready to husband a journalist”.
