In order to ensure a standardized digital postcode system, the NPC, in collaboration with NIPOST, have embarked on the training personnel for Post code Area Delineation, in Abuja.
Present at the event were the Chairman of NPC, Hon. Nasir Isa kwarra; the Postmaster General, NIPOST, Hon. Sunday Adeyemi Adepoju; Director General of NASRDA, Dr. Halilu Ahmad Shaba and other dignitaries.
The system which assigns a unique alphanumeric code to every dwelling entity takes into consideration the unique use of such buildings, either for residential, commercial, medicare or educational purposes, including the geographical location.
The training made up of Supervisors, Enumerators, and GIS officers will be on the field for 7 days to validate through a micro test, the Model in Bwari Area Council of the FCT, after which the whole country will be delineated into Postcode Areas.
The extended postcode framework is a collaboration between NPC and NIPOST.
